Lares Trek to Machupicchu 4 Days/3 Nights (Hot spring)

This trek is a great alternative for those people who wanting to experience the incredible beauty and rich culture of The Andes, where people still live as the Incas used to live in ancient times.

The people live in thatched houses shepherding their llamas and alpacas ( Andean camels). Authentic encounters with quechua communities and spectacular scenery, Along this trek we pass through the rich pastoral regions of the Cordillera Urubamba, we will appreciate beautiful snowcapped mountains, glaciar, lakes, natural hot springs( hot medicinal bath), Inca remains and its peculiar fauna and flora.

Itinerary

DAY 1 CUSCO- LARES HOT SPRING – HUACAWASI.

We will leave early in the morning in a private bus to Lares, through the way we observe a lot of archaeological remains, local handicraft markets, after 4 hours of journey, we arrive to Lares where is the hot medicinal springs (3200 meters above sea level), we’ll have time to enjoy each bath with different natural charms and temperaturas between 28 and 34 degrees celcius. After lunch we will start hiking until Huacawasi (3600 m.a.s.l), a wonderful place to visit the indian market, the people produce colorful weaving made by hand. Explore the native community, visiting their  houses and chatting to friendly people.

DAY 2 HUACAWASI – IPSAYCOCHA- PATACANCHA

The trail will be hardest, we are going to ascend until the pass called abra Ipsaycocha 4400 meters above sea leve. It will take about 4 hours, along the way we observe local communities a  wonderful place to visit the indian market, the people produce colorful weaving made by hands. Explore the native community, visiting their houses and chatting to friendly people. We appreciate the range of the Cordillera de los Andes and the most important  snowcapped peak Veronica ( 5700 meters above sea level). We continue our hikedownwards until our campsite next to the small village of Patacancha (3650 m.a.s.l)

DAY 3 PATACANCHA- HUILLOC- PUMAMARCA- OLLANTAYTAMBO.

Very early in the morning after breakfast we continue down through native agricultural valleys, where there are the most important Quechua communities. We arrive to Huilloc is a local native community, from here we will go down to Pumamarca a very interesting Inca town, afterwards we will go down to Ollantaytambo. We spend a night in a hotel.

DAY 4 AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

After breakfast very early in the morning, we board the tourist bus after 25 minutes of journey arrive to Machupicchu, we enjoy a guided tour for 3 hours to the main complex of Machupicchu Sanctuary; there is a time to explore on your own.

Take the bus to Aguas Calientes, lunch, and we will go back to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.
