ITINERARY.

DAY 1 LIMA - CUSCO (City tour)

Arriving to Cusco and transfer to hotel

After lunch in the afternoon we visit The Cathedral, The Temple of the Sun Qoricancha and the nearby ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Q´enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.

DAY 2 TOUR TO SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS.

Depart Cusco and drive through the pisturesque Sacred Valley where we visit the traditional artisan´s market and the archaeological complex in Pisaq, from here we drive to Urubamba for a delicious buffet lunch in a beautiful setting, after lunch we continue following the couse of the Urubamba river to the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo this is a very unique site called a living museum for its Inca infraestructure, stone, terraces, temples and the inhabits continue dewelling in the original enclosures where the Inca population lived centuries ago.

From here our last stop is Chinchero a typical andean agricultural village where the women display their textiles .

Chinchero was once an important residence of an Inca king Sinchi Roca , its church built on an Inca temple. We arrive to Cusco around 6:30 p.m.

DAY 3 INKA TRAIL 4/3 CUSCO-KM 82- WAYLLABAMBA.

At 5:30 a.m. depart Cusco to Km 82. We start our trek escorted by native Quechua porters, we cross the Urubamba river by bridge, we walk along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow capped mount Veronica (5832m). We arrive an archaeological remain Llactapata continuing though lush farmland.

We have our first campsite at Wayllabamba ( 3000 meters above sea level).

Distance: 12 Km/ 7.5 miles

Approximate walking time: 5-6 hours

DAY 4 WAYLLABAMBA TO PACAYMAYO.

Afeter breakfast early in the morning we´ll begin to climb though Andean cloud forest and high puna to the highest point on our trek Warmiwañusca (4250 m), where there is a spectacular viwe of the valley below Vilcanota and the Vilcabamba mountain ranges, during our ascent we can appreciate the wide variety of plant, flower and bird species.

We´ll camp along the river Pacaymayo.

Distance: 11 km/6.8 miles

Walking time: 6-7 hours

DAY 5 PACAYMAYO TO WIÑAYHUAYNA.

After breakfast we follow ancient stone paths to the well preserved Inca remains Runkurakay, we´ll descent to Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca important archaeological complex, we will spend our third and final night near the ruins of Wiñayhuayna.

Distance: 16 km/10 miles

Walking time: 8 hours

DAY 6 WIÑAYHUAYNA - MACHUPICCHU.

Early in the morning leaving Wiñayhuayna, we descend gradually further though the highland jungle, we´ll arrive to Inti punku the sun gate to Machupicchu, from where a spectacular panoramic view of the Lost City of the Incas lies widely spread before our eyes. It is a moment that will remain forever cherishes and unforgotten.

We spend 2 or 3 hours in Machupicchu, in the afternoon we will board our return train to Cusco.

Walking time: 2 hours

DAY 7 CUSCO - LIMA.

Transfer hotel airport 2 hours before.
